Reference tile

For diffuse reflection measurement, it is recommended to use WS-2 reference watts, while for specular reflection, RS-2 reference watts are recommended.

The WS-2 reference tile is made of white diffuse reflection material PTFE, which is considered a reference material with a high level of diffuse reflection measurement. WS-2 is mostly used in colorimetric applications, which require measuring the reference signal first during reflection measurements.

Due to the high purity of PTFE material and its precise amorphous structure during production, this white reference tile can achieve a reflectivity of approximately 98% in the 350-1800nm spectral range and 92% in the 250-2500nm spectral range. Even in the ultraviolet region, PTFE material has excellent long-term stability. PTFE material is not easily wetted by water and its chemical properties are not active, so it can be cleaned with water.

In the application of gemology, WS-2 is generally used together with reflective integrating spheres. Place the gemstone in the center of the reference tile, and then place the integrating sphere on top. A specially designed WS-2-GEM is specifically designed for gemstone measurement, with a hole in its center that cools the gemstone with liquid nitrogen while fixing it.

The WS-2-CAL white reference tile is NIST traceable and comes with an electronic calibration file for the 250-2500nm wavelength range.

The RS-2 reference tile is a mirror reference tile commonly used for reference calibration in mirror reflection measurement. RS-2-CAL is a calibrated mirror reference tile that is traceable to NIST and comes with an electronic calibration file in the 250-2500nm wavelength range, which is obtained through 8 ° angle absolute reflectance measurement.
